Description
I designed and created this Pyrite Ammonite ring in january 2019. Inspiration for this piece came from underwater animals and organisms. How far is it from the depths of the unknown oceans until you reach the depth of imagination, an unknown place where everything is possible? And in countless combinations? We move slowly, swim at the bottom of our thoughts and discover again and again what we have not even dreamed of. . . You ask yourself where this fantastic variety of impossible forms and mystical colors comes from? What inspires nature in her creations?
Pyritized ammonites tell us a lot about the past environments of our planet. Trilobites and ammonites were rapidly buried under ocean sediments that were low in organic matter. So the fossilization process began fast. Pyrite – its name comes from the Greek word ‘pyros’ meaning ‘fire’ because sparks flew from it when hit with another mineral. It consist of iron and has a golden-like colour, but it is much harder and more brittle than gold. Natural form and my love for marine life inspired this Pyrite Ammonite ring.
Made in 2019, This Pyrite ammonite ring belongs to the collection Microvita.
It can be worn with the Pyrite Ammonite necklace.
