Amethyst & Copper-Malachite ring stand out for its deep purple colour in contrast with turquoise-green color of Copper-Malachite. It is simple, yet subtle and modern. From nighty, lighter to deep colour. Amethyst & Copper-Malachite ring is easy to wear and to combine. Amethyst is oval cut and has facets. Copper-Malachite is cut in cabochon form.
Amethyst was known from ancient times and it was always highly prized. It is a purple variety of quartz. The name comes from ancient Greek and means “intoxicate”, which refers to the fact, that it was believed to protect from drunkenness. Historically, it was used by ancient Egyptians as amulets and intaglio carvings. It was always used as a precious stone in jewellery.
A unique Copper-Malachite cabochon – green natural malachite with unusual crystal inclusions of pure copper. Malachite is an opaque, green banded copper carbonate and it was mined near the Isthmus of Suez and the Sinai 4000 B.C. It was often used as mineral pigment in green paints, but also for decorative purposes, such as in the Malachite Room inn the Hermitage Museum.
