The driftwood I use in my jewellery piece Blue Bubbles Collier is for me an unknown species, found somewhere at the sea. It is extremely light, dry and hollow. Maybe it is fungal. I use vivid blue colours combined with silver and red, to bring out its beautiful wood structure and temperament. The lacquer and the transparent resin also stabilize the soft cotton material. In combination with another material like silver and micro granules, I achieve the look of a new species. These have its origin in my imagination.
To give birth to something new, something old must die.
By focusing on the essentials we reach the blurred lines between natural and artificial.
These relationships are the jewel in the composition of freedom and individual expression.
Blue Bubbles Collier is a statement piece for those who love unique, colourful jewellery.
