Lapis Lazuli earrings stand out for their deep blue colour in contrast with shiny white color of silver. They are simple, yet subtle and modern. From nighty, lighter to deep blue colour. Lapis Lazuli studs are easy to wear and to combine. They have a raw surface in the front and rounded cut on the back side.
Lapis Lazuli is a deep-blue metamorphic rock. It was always used as a precious stone in jewellery. It was mined already 7th millenium BC in Afghanistan. In the Middle-ages, it was exported to Europe, where it was ground into powder – a blue pigment called Ultramarine, which is the most expensive artistic pigment. It consist of Lazurite, to which it owes its blue colour, pyrite and calcite. Also Sodalite, Diopside, Enstatite, Augite, Hauyin, Mica and Tremolite.
The Lapis Lazuli earrings were made for the collection Innerverse in 2022.
